McGraw Hill Construction has just released their latest SmartMarket Report. This edition is focused on the Business Value of BIM.
As an introduction, an excerpt from the report describes it well:
"Who's using BIM, and where are they getting the real business value? These are the two questions [the authors] hear all the time. Like any innovation trying to gain traction, its actual business benefits are what will make it successful. And their impact on users' bottom line is what will drive adoption. There are enough people now using BIM that we can start to answer these questions."
The authors learned that:
- Almost 50% of the industry is now using BIM
- All BIM users plan significant increases in their use
- The vast majority are experiencing real business benefits directly attributable to BIM
