Franz Hein > Chairperson

Franz is a Design Technology Specialist with Woods Bagot, a global design studio specialising in the design and planning of facilities across the Education, Science, Lifestyle and Workplace sectors. His role is to integrate the use of leading edge technology into the design and delivery process for major projects around the globe, including the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methods, parametric design tools and collaborative technologies. 


Peter Goodman > Secretary

Peter is the Autodesk Development Manager for the Victorian office of Waterman International Pty Ltd previously known as Waterman AHW (Vic) Pty Ltd. He has developed and maintained all Autodesk products for this Consulting Engineering Firm which covers Building Services, Structural, Civil and Vertical Transportation.

Peter's experience in Revit has been on the MEP platform mainly with some experience also in Structure and Architecture Platforms since the Launch of the Revit MEP 2008. Peter has spent some time in training others the MEP platform as well.  Peter sees that a representation of Revit MEP in a user group is needed as MEP is the newest of the Revit platforms and is often overlooked.


Shanoc Halliday > Treasurer

Shanoc is a Senior Structural Draftsperson for Robert Bird Group. 
With RBG testing Revit Structure 4 in the Brisbane Office and branching out to other Offices, Shanoc was heavily involved in the rolling out and continued training of the Melbourne staff.  As a full time Revit leader his projects include the redevelopment of Melbourne Emporium a site almost 3/4 of a city block, The Melbourne Markets Redevelopment Project comprising of over 1.5km of undercover steel structure, 35 Story Apartment.

Shanoc's knowledge has broadened into Visualization and Virtual Construction with ExViz where construction time management and costs are complimented with
multi-media presentations, including 40 meter high Lonsdale Street Heritage Facade Retention with rendered views of construction sequences along with conventional documentation for Builder and Council presentations.


Julia Allen

Julia Allen has recently joined Geyer as their National Building Information Modelling Leader.Geyer is one of Australia's largest interior design practices specialising in the development and implementation of workplace, retail, hospitality and education environments. Julia’s role is to provide BIM leadership and vision to Geyer, whilst enhancing Geyer’s BIM capability through training, coaching and mentoring. With over 100 employees across 6 global studios in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Wellington and Singapore, Geyer’s designers work with our clients to help them achieve their goals by developing intelligent design solutions which reflect their brand, culture and business objectives as well as support future change.  


Ben May

Ben is the Principal Technical Officer-Building Structures with AECOM Victoria, Ben has worked exclusively with Revit since 2006 documenting projects across all sectors with a value up to AUD$900Millon.

Bens background is a Structural Draftsman with over 10 years experience with early experience in 3D modelling of structures with various software packages. Ben continues to work on a broad range of projects with particular interest in multi-discipline collaboration projects.


Hiwad Musaghaz

Hiwad is the B.I.M. Leader with Webber Design with several years of Revit experience. Hiwad has attained a Diploma of Engineering and also he is currently studying in his spare time an Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architecture)

Webber Design is a Structural Engineering Firm in Melbourne that delivers a full comprehensive documentation package to clients. Webber Design has the reputation to deliver documentation with remarkable time. Hiwad is responsible for training, and the ongoing implementing and developing of Revit Structure.


Russell Strange

Russell is the Building Engineering Revit Manager for AECOM Victoria, he is involved nationally in developing content and standards as well as implementation and training around Australia for Revit MEP. Russell has been involved in an array of large high profile multidisciplinary building projects throughout Australia including the new 12 storey RMIT University building currently under construction on Swanston St in Melbourne. Russell first started using Revit MEP in 2007 and since that time has played a major role in implementing Revit in AECOMs Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney offices.

Russell's background is in Electrical Engineering, however he has a genuine interest in 3D modelling and is continually furthering his knowledge base. He is now undertaking a Cert III in Digital Media which mainly focuses on Architectural Visualization using 3D Studio MAX. 


Matt Rumbelow

Matt Rumbelow has had experience with architectural practices in London and across Australia & New Zealand. Previously the first lecturer of Digital Design for the School of Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia (2001 until 2005), Matt worked with Autodesk establishing BIM for AEC Systems. In 2007 Matt joined Woodhead, one the largest architectural practices in Australia as CAD Coordinator - Building Information Modeling. He was selected to present at the Autodesk Univeristy Interndational Users Conference in Las Vegas in December 2008 and attended again last year. He is currently a Business Development Executive (BIM) with Atlas+ Industries.


Brian Renehan

Brian has recently moved to AEC Systems in a Senior Technical Consultant role, where he is assisting AEC firms in implementing and streamlining Revit and BIM. Previously he was the Technical National Building Information Modeling (BIM) Manager with Cox Architects. Cox Architects is an award winning architectural group with 5 national offices.

Brian has been using Autodesk software since 1995, and started to pick up Revit in 2006. He quickly had the vision to see it was the way forward from conventional 2D CAD. He has managed Revit jobs of over 75,000 m² and up to 320 million Australian Dollars. In 2008 Brian set up a Revit blog, RevitFix.blogspot.com, a site devoted to Revit tips, bugs and work arounds.
Brian is an Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011 certified professional.
